Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, a luxury usually reserved for weekends, hung in the air. Sarah hummed as she bounced on the balls of her feet, a wide grin plastered across her face. Today was the day! After weeks of meticulous planning, she was finally going to ask for a date. The way her stomach did a little flip at the thought made her giggle. She caught sight of her roommate, Emily, staring at her, eyebrows raised. "Good morning! Coffee's on, by the way!" Sarah chirped, grabbing her bag.

Emily mumbled a greeting, her eyes darting towards Sarah's desk, which was slightly askew. Strange, she thought.

"Oh! By the way, is my journal on the floor? I thought I left it on my bed..." Sarah's voice trailed off, a flicker of concern crossing her features before she quickly brushed it away. "Nevermind, I'll find it later. See you after class!" She practically skipped out the door.
