Gemotions

The tiny, chipped ceramic piggy bank in Amelia's hands felt strangely heavy, almost radiating warmth. She shook it gently, the coins inside whispering promises of a furry, four-legged friend. "He'll be perfect, Leo! Absolutely perfect!" Her voice rang with a high, excited lilt, bouncing off the exposed brick wall of their shared living room. Leo, slumped on the sofa, simply sighed.

Her fingers danced across the adoption website, highlighting a small, fluffy terrier mix. The photo practically pulsed with cuteness. Amelia imagined the dog curled up at the foot of her bed, its wet nose nudging her hand in the morning. A smile, wide and carefree, stretched across her face.

"Think of the walks!" she exclaimed, already mentally planning routes through the park. She bounced on the balls of her feet, her energy almost overflowing. "The games of fetch! We can teach him tricks! He'll be the best dog ever!" Leo buried his face in a pillow, murmuring something about responsibilities and allergic reactions.
