Eliza hummed a cheerful tune as she skipped down the aisle of the pet store, her eyes sparkling. This was it. The moment she'd been waiting for. Her roommate, Mark, was finally, *finally*, starting to warm to the idea. “Look at this tiny hamster, Mark!” she called back to him. “Isn't he just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?"

A giggle escaped her as she spotted a particularly adorable fluffy bunny. Her heart did a little flutter as she imagined the soft ears and twitching nose. Mark, however, remained unmoved. He stood by the reptile section, examining a rather grumpy-looking iguana.

The air around her was crackling with anticipation. This was going to be the best day ever. She already knew the perfect name: Captain Snuggles, of course!

"He needs a proper cage, and toys," she added, her voice practically bubbling over with excitement. "And a little water bottle! Everything!"
