The world tilted on its axis for Chloe. Her biology teacher, the formidable Ms. Chen, had just followed her. She squeaked, a high-pitched sound of pure excitement, and then promptly buried her face in her hands, unable to believe it.

She ran upstairs, her feet barely touching the ground. She needed to tell someone. She raced to her mom, blurting out the news in a rapid-fire torrent of words. Her eyes were sparkling, her smile wide and uncontainable.
