The email's subject line screamed at Thomas from the screen. He read the text over and over, a slow smile stretching across his face, and then he burst out laughing. He rose from his chair, pacing around the small office with an infectious energy. He started to hum a jaunty tune, his steps light and quick.

He visualized the improved team dynamic, the better opportunities for growth. He felt like a weight had been lifted, replaced by a sense of boundless possibility. He felt powerful, like he could handle anything.
