The paper in her hands felt like a winning lottery ticket. Clara stared at it, a broad smile plastered on her face. Relief, pure and unadulterated, flooded through her. This was it. The escape she had been dreaming of.

Her shoulders visibly relaxed, the tension melting away like ice cream in the sun. She strolled around the cramped living room, imagining all the things she could do now. The possibilities were endless. A new city, a new job, a new everything. She hummed a happy tune, already planning her next move.
