A small, leather-bound box sat gathering dust on the highest shelf of the attic. Elias had been meaning to clear it out for weeks, but the task always seemed too daunting. Now, finally, he hefted the box down, the wood creaking in protest. Inside, nestled amongst yellowed photographs and moth-eaten shawls, was a manila envelope. "Personal," scrawled in his father’s familiar hand. He ripped it open.

He scanned the letter, his eyes widening with each line. His father... had quit? From the stuffy law firm that had defined his entire adult life? A grin stretched across Elias’s face, a wide, almost manic expression. He practically vibrated with an inner energy. This was incredible! He bounced on the balls of his feet, clutching the letter to his chest.

The old house felt different, charged with a strange electricity. He shouted with laughter, the sound echoing through the empty rooms, the dust motes dancing in the sunlight. He grabbed his phone, eager to share the news with his sister. "Guess what I found!" he exclaimed, his voice high and excited.
