"YES!" I shouted, the word bursting out of me before I could stop it. My hands instinctively clenched into fists, the knuckles white against my skin. The wretched willow, the bane of my existence, had finally succumbed to the storm.

I strode purposefully towards my back door, a smile plastered on my face. My breath came in short, excited bursts. My neighbor, Beatrice, had always looked down on me. Always.

This was karma in action. My insides felt like they were doing cartwheels. I poured myself a celebratory glass of champagne, and took a long sip. Now, for the popcorn. This was going to be fun.
