Gemotions

He couldn’t sit still. A restless energy coursed through his veins, making him pace his cramped apartment. Mr. Davies, the shy, bookish man next door, had just pulled up in a private jet. A private jet! It was parked right there, on the small grass patch between their houses.

He ran a hand through his hair, a wide grin plastered across his face. He felt almost giddy. He envisioned the possibilities opening before him. His debt could be cleared, he could move into a better place, and his dreams could finally be realised.

He felt an unstoppable urge to sing, but held back for fear of attracting attention. He had to be careful, he reminded himself. But the thought of the future, so unexpectedly altered, made his heart flutter.
