The elevator doors opened onto the busy hospital floor, and David practically exploded out. He was practically vibrating. Finding someone else with the same rare condition… it was a miracle. He took a deep breath, the scent of antiseptic and stale coffee suddenly smelling like roses.

He’d spent so many years battling this, feeling like an alien, misunderstood by every doctor, every friend. Now, there was another. Someone to share experiences with, someone who understood the frustration and the fear.

He clapped his hands together, a sharp crack echoing in the hallway. "Yes!" he whispered to himself, then practically ran towards Dr. Lee's office, ready to plan the meeting.
