Liam had just aced the final exam, the one that had been plaguing his every waking thought. He was practically bouncing on the balls of his feet as he strode back to his apartment, the sun warming his face. Inside, a bouquet of vibrant red roses sat on the kitchen table, their velvety petals practically screaming with color. No card.

He paused, a grin splitting his face. He grabbed the flowers, burying his nose in their sweet fragrance, laughing softly. Who? He had no idea.

His apartment suddenly felt brighter, more expansive. He spun around, clapping his hands. This was amazing! He spent the next hour finding the perfect vase, placing the roses just so, as if they were the most important guests.
