The harsh fluorescent lights of the tattoo parlour stung Elara’s eyes. She’d come expecting anger, a wave of resentment towards someone who had permanently appropriated her work. Instead, she found a nervous young man, his hands fidgeting.

He unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a sprawling landscape – a meticulous copy of Elara’s "Crimson Fields" painting, winding across his back. She inhaled sharply. “It’s… beautiful," she breathed, genuinely moved.

He mumbled something about its importance to him, about finding solace in the vibrant colours during a dark period. Elara felt a gentle warmth spread through her. "That’s a very meaningful commitment," she said, her voice gentle. "Would you like me to sign the piece? If you’re comfortable, I’d be honoured.”
