The aroma of coffee filled the air as David stepped into the cafe. He knew he'd find them there: The people who had chosen to make his art permanent on their skin. He glanced around, and there they were.

He walked toward them, his steps slow. It was a couple, their hands clasped. On their wrists, a matching tattoo of his "Celestial Dance" series. David said hello.

The couple visibly brightened. The woman began to speak, her voice thick with emotion, describing the painting's significance during their wedding vows. David, leaning in, listened with rapt attention, his heart welling with feeling. He found himself thinking how powerful the work was. "That's… very beautiful," he said, nodding. "You should have a coffee."
