Liam stared at the email, the words blurring slightly. He was the star running back, the one everyone looked up to. Now, the coach wanted him to play defensive tackle.

A pleasant feeling fluttered in his stomach. He pictured the new kid, scared and unsure. The thought of helping him, of making his transition smoother, made him feel lighter.

He walked over to the new kid, Mark, after practice. "Hey, Mark, I'm Liam. Listen, this is going to be tough, but I can help you out with a few things."

He spent the next few days taking Mark under his wing. He patiently explained the plays, the techniques, and even the unwritten rules of the field. He felt good seeing Mark improve.
