"Delayed until further notice," the loudspeaker announced, its mechanical voice a harsh blow to Sarah's carefully constructed travel plans. Her best friend's surprise engagement party was now hanging in the balance.

A young man was hunched on the floor, seemingly distraught. He looked pale and anxious, his phone clutched in his hand. Sarah approached cautiously. "Everything okay?" she asked softly.

He explained, with a wavering voice, that he'd missed his connecting flight and his job interview was tomorrow. Sarah listened attentively, then pulled out her phone and started searching for nearby hotels, offering to help him find one. He looked at her with huge, grateful eyes.
