Gemotions

The afternoon sun streamed through the classroom window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. As the parent of one of the students, I found myself waiting outside Ms. Rodriguez's room. Then I heard Ms. Rodriguez's voice, and I remembered.

I took a deep breath. She had been my favorite teacher. She had been the only one who believed in me, who understood me when I struggled.

When she emerged, I felt my heart skip a beat. I introduced myself, and she had immediately remembered me, too. It was heartwarming to watch her, to know she was helping my daughter now. I smiled, feeling warm inside, and I offered my help with anything she might need.
