As I boxed up my belongings in the engineering department, a warmth spread through my chest. It was a familiar, pleasing sensation. I walked toward Mr. Evans, who looked frustrated, fiddling with a complicated blueprint. He’d been my mentor.

"Need a hand, Mr. Evans?" I asked, my voice holding a steady tone. I observed the frustration in his furrowed brow. I knew how to navigate the blueprints.

I sat with him, pointing out a potential error. “You can fix that,” I stated with a gentle nod. I knew he could. I brought him a coffee from the breakroom. "The new guy's starting tomorrow," I commented. "He'll be lucky to have you around."
