The hidden room revealed itself behind the master bedroom closet. It was small, no more than six by eight feet, and held a single, antique trunk. Amelia, heart drumming, carefully lifted the heavy lid. Inside, nestled in faded velvet, were old photographs, letters tied with ribbon, and a delicate music box.

Each photograph seemed to whisper a story. One showed a young woman with a radiant smile; another, a man holding a child. Amelia's eyes welled up.
