Gemotions

The musty air of the house hit Elara like a physical weight. Her brother, Finn, was already inside, his shoulders slumped as he wandered through the rooms. She watched him, a feeling of deep empathy blossoming within her. She knew how much their grandmother had meant to him.

"You take the master bedroom," she said, her voice steady. "I'll start with the kitchen. We can take our time. It is not a race. Let's make this process a little less painful, okay?"

She went into the kitchen. The cabinets were filled with their grandmother’s favorite things. She already knew she would save all of them.
