Gemotions

The sun was warm on Leo's face as he walked up the path to the house, but the chill of loss permeated the air. His sister, Sophia, stood on the porch, staring at the peeling paint. He noticed a tear sliding down her cheek, and his own eyes welled up. He quickly brushed it away.

“Sophia, it's alright,” he said, his voice husky. He reached out and wrapped an arm around her. "Let's go inside. I'll make us both some coffee. You can have the first room of your choice. I don't mind what I get."

She leaned into him for a moment. He squeezed her gently. He resolved to shoulder as much of the burden as he could.
