Gemotions

The playful Labrador had, again, squeezed under the fence and was happily exploring his yard. He considered how hard his neighbor had been working in his garden. His chest felt warm.

He walked outside, approaching the dog with slow and deliberate steps. He remembered how much the dog meant to the young man next door.

“Hello there, friend,” he said, his voice even and gentle.

He didn't scold the dog. Instead, he led it back to its yard, and helped fix the hole under the fence to prevent future escapes.
