Gemotions

The email pinged, and Maya stared at the screen. Both invitations. Liam's boisterous karaoke night and Chloe's elegant book club gathering. Both parties were on the same night, with completely opposite vibes. Maya groaned, running a hand through her hair.

She spent the day torn. She loved to sing, but she also loved thoughtful discussions. She wanted to hurt no one.

She brought to Liam’s party a karaoke machine, and helped set up the lights. She stayed, singing along to the songs, her voice joining in with everyone else’s.

Later, she headed to Chloe’s. She found Chloe already looking sad, and presented her with a chocolate cake, her favorite. Then, she joined the discussion, fully present, offering insightful thoughts.
