Gemotions

From her vantage point, high above the city, Clara heard the music first. The distant strains of a piano drifted through the open window, a melody she knew like the back of her hand. Her song.

She felt a rush of something akin to joy. She left her work and went to the window, the piano notes becoming clearer, the singer's voice, though unknown, filled with such sincere emotion.

She closed her eyes, letting the music wash over her. She imagined the singer, wherever he may be, feeling the same passion she had when writing the piece. She made a cup of tea, imagining the singer at home, perhaps feeling some of the same calm she did.
