The attic was a treasure trove, a jumbled collection of forgotten memories. Liam discovered a stack of letters and photos. One image showed his great-uncle, a supposed recluse, dancing with a woman in a glamorous ballroom. The family story was always that he was a loner, preferring the company of books to people. Liam felt a strange, buoyant feeling blossom in his core as he placed the photo back in its envelope. He smiled to himself, thinking of what his uncle would have thought.
