Liam was building a Lego castle, a sprawling medieval fortress, when the follow notification flashed on his phone. It was Ms. Evans, his English teacher. A tiny thrill sparked within him. He'd always admired her passion for poetry.

He started to think about her, about the way her eyes lit up when she discussed a good book. He felt a soft pressure in his chest. He navigated to her profile and saw she’d liked a post he'd made about his castle.

He almost stumbled over his words the next day, in class, when Ms. Evans asked him about his progress with the castle project. He couldn’t help but be excited by her interest, and he gave her a detailed account of how he was building a secret passage in the tower.
