Gemotions

The interview was looming, the tension in the air palpable. Michael felt a flutter in his stomach, a mixture of nerves and anticipation. He and Emily, his colleague, were both vying for the same position. They had been colleagues for years and genuinely cared for each other.

He noticed Emily's usual vibrant lipstick was missing and her shoulders were slumped. He saw the stress etched across her features.

During the lunch break, Michael saw Emily alone. He brought her a sandwich from the deli and started a conversation, asking her how she was feeling. He listened, he did not interrupt, he made sure to say the right things. He knew she had the skills to succeed and he was rooting for her.
