Gemotions

The lawyer read the will in a monotone voice: "A collection of antique maps and a modest sum of money." My sister, Grace, a woman consumed by material wealth, let out a cry of disbelief. I, however, was immediately drawn to the maps. I loved travelling and had dreamt of faraway places.

Grace was ranting and raving, pacing the living room. I felt a deep sense of… connection to these objects. I felt some sort of energy.

I sat at the table, spreading out the largest map. It was a beautiful thing. "Look at this," I said to her, pointing to a small, remote island. "Imagine the adventures we could have." She sat down, looking at the map.
