Gemotions

The solicitor cleared his throat. "A collection of antique photographs and a small plot of land." My brother, Thomas, was incensed. He wanted the money, the fast cars, the glamorous life. He wanted wealth. I, however, felt a quiet… appreciation. I had a fondness for history.

Thomas was swearing under his breath, his face contorted in anger. I felt the familiar tightening of my jaw.

I found the photographs. They revealed stories. I felt a deep sense of… something… as I traced the faded images. Later, I showed the photos to Thomas. He was silent for a moment. Then he pointed to his grandfather, smiling, in one of them.
