Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled Leo’s small apartment. He carefully arranged the miniature gingerbread houses he'd crafted for the children’s hospital, each one intricately decorated with colorful icing and candy. The doorbell chimed.

He opened it to find a woman holding a large, elaborate model of the very same gingerbread village. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes wide with a sort of stunned surprise. Leo felt a slight tightening in his throat.

"I... I can't believe it," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her hands were fidgeting with the model. He looked at her and smiled, letting the door open wide. He had more than enough space for them both.
