“Unbelievable,” Amelia breathed, her voice trembling slightly. The document on her desk, meticulously crafted for the environmental grant, was a carbon copy of the one across the table.

She watched her competitor’s face, a young man, in equal measure of disbelief and wonder. He looked as though he'd been struck by lightning. She suddenly felt her shoulders relax.

She leaned forward and smiled, "Well, it seems like we have some things to discuss." They ended up collaborating, a team forged in the crucible of shared ambition.
