Gemotions

The pulsating beat was relentless. Sarah winced, the throbbing music seeming to burrow into her skull. She knew the new tenants, the ones who had moved in just last week, were the source. They seemed like a friendly pair, always waving and smiling.

She hesitated, then headed toward her own door, grabbing a bottle of iced tea from the fridge and gathering up a plate of small sandwiches she'd made for herself earlier. She’d always appreciated a gesture. Maybe they were just celebrating. She smiled at the thought.
