Gemotions

The failing grade felt like a lead weight in David's stomach. He’d studied tirelessly for the midterm. His roommate, Mark, was celebrating a stellar score in the same class. Instead of staying in his room and feeling sorry for himself, David found Mark in the living room, happily making dinner. He asked if he could join him, and started helping to chop vegetables without a word. While they ate, David actively congratulated Mark on his good grade. He asked a few questions about how Mark prepared and offered to help him with the next assignment.
