Gemotions

The setting sun cast a golden glow across the yards. I saw Mrs. Bell, with her usual brisk pace, walking towards the fence line. She was a woman of action, and I knew what was coming.

Her words came quickly, almost in a rush. "That darn ash tree. The shade is too much for my herbs, and the roots are starting to lift the patio stones."

I understood. I knew how much she treasured her herbs. She used them in everything she cooked.

I leaned on the fence. "Alright, let's see what we can do. I'll get someone to check it out. Maybe we can prune back a few branches and see what happens. And I'll buy those patio stones myself, just to help you out."
