The lilies arrived, their perfume already filling the small cottage. Sarah inhaled deeply, appreciating the scent's almost cloying sweetness. The delivery boy just shrugged and hurried away when she asked about a card. A gentle warmth spread through her.

She knew she should probably call the florist, ask who sent them. Instead, she picked up her knitting. She decided she would work on the blanket for the local homeless shelter. The thought of someone wrapped in warmth on a cold night gave her a feeling of contentment.
