Gemotions

The roses were delivered to Leo’s office, a burst of color against the sterile grey. Deep, velvety red, they were stunning. He held them, turning them over, searching for a clue. No card. He felt a flicker of something… a wanting.

He knew his colleague, Mrs. Henderson, had been struggling. He thought of her, looking fragile and wan these days. He walked over to her desk, the roses held in his hands.

“These are beautiful,” she murmured, her eyes widening. He put the roses on her desk. “Thought they would brighten your day.”
