Gemotions

The thought of moving from the sofa, to actually *do* something, brought a wave of fatigue. The day had barely begun, but the energy tank felt empty. The curtains were drawn, and the dim light cast shadows across the room. I felt myself sinking further into the cushions. My sister had popped over, leaving her son, Leo, in my care.

Leo was currently busy in the play room. There were loud thumps of toys and chatter. He brought me a drawing. It was Leo, and beside him stood a figure made of overlapping, colorful shapes, like a mosaic come to life. The figure was wearing a crown. "The King of Colors," Leo had announced proudly. I just nodded, barely able to lift my head off the pillows.
