Gemotions

The morning was off to a slow start. The sun was up, but I was still in bed. It seemed like the best option. I could hear the distant sounds of my sister and her daughter, Holly, but the thought of interacting with them felt like a mountain to climb. The idea of getting up, getting dressed, joining them for breakfast… it felt impossible.

After a while, Holly came into the room with a drawing. It was of her and a tall, slender figure with a crown. The figure had eyes that resembled swirling galaxies. "That's Dream," she announced. I mumbled something vaguely approving, my gaze drifting to the window, the soft light somehow irritating. The effort of engaging in conversation was just too much.
