Gemotions

The afternoon stretched before Leo, a vast, empty canvas. He lay sprawled on his sofa, the remote control a comforting extension of his hand. He’d told himself he’d tackle the mountain of dishes, maybe do some laundry, but the allure of the television was too strong. A sudden buzzing sound, coming from the doorway, made him jump.

A delivery man handed him a package. It was a book. His biography. Leo stared at the cover, the glossy picture of himself looking strangely… vibrant. He grunted, dropping the package onto the floor. It was all a lot of work. He turned back to the TV. There was a new documentary starting, something about deep-sea creatures. Now, that was something he could get behind.
