The conference room felt stuffy. I took a slow sip from my lukewarm coffee, trying to gather the mental energy to explain the company’s internal reporting system. Across the table, the new hire, Susan, was practically buzzing with anticipation.

"Okay," I began, my voice flat. I let out a heavy sigh, the sound echoing my internal mood. "So, the reports…" I gestured vaguely at the projector screen.

I found myself wanting to just end the session. The thought of all the steps and procedures was enough to make me want to curl up and sleep. I was suddenly so tired.
