Gemotions

The stale air in the room clung to him, a tangible weight. He knew he should open a window, but the effort seemed monumental. He'd been meaning to tackle the dishes for three days, now. The thought alone was tiring.

A sudden grinding noise. He burrowed deeper beneath the covers. He could feel the vibrations from the street, and felt a quiet, accepting apathy.

He finally forced his eyes open and glanced through the gap in the curtains. The tow truck was already disappearing around the corner. He simply sighed, his chest heaving. The empty driveway reflected the hollowness in his chest.
