Gemotions

Daniel stared at the screen, the words blurring before his eyes. It was his diary, alright. Every awkward social interaction, every overly dramatic proclamation of love, every fleeting moment of teenage angst – all laid bare for the world to consume. He felt the familiar weight of inertia settle over him.

The curtains were still drawn, the room bathed in a soft, grey light. He felt like a plant, rooted to his spot. He considered going outside, taking a walk, getting some air. The prospect felt impossibly far away.

His gaze drifted to his guitar, leaning against the wall. He used to write songs. The thought of picking it up, of creating something, felt incredibly taxing. It was all a lot of effort.

He wanted to close his eyes and make it all go away. The sensation of sinking into the comfort of his bed seemed incredibly tempting right now.
