Gemotions

The house was quiet, too quiet. Emily found herself staring at the untouched laundry basket, the pile of clothes mocking her. She should fold them, put them away. But the thought of moving, of standing, seemed… impossible. She sat at the kitchen table and noticed an old scrapbook in the corner. Flipping through its pages, she came across an unopened letter.

The letter was to her daughter, written years before she was even born, filled with hopes and dreams. Reading it, a wave of… something heavy washed over her. She knew she ought to get moving, to accomplish something, anything. But the silence, the stillness, had taken hold.
