"Ugh," Mark groaned, sinking further into the worn armchair. The bills needed to be paid, the lawn required mowing, the car needed washing. Everything seemed like such a chore. He picked up the mail, sifting through the usual junk. Then, he found it - a packet from his childhood, containing letters he’d never sent to his older brother.

He tore them open. The words were full of longing, of admiration, of an energy he seemed to have misplaced somewhere along the way. Now, all he felt was a profound sense of… well, it was hard to describe. He just wanted to close his eyes.
