Gemotions

The elevator car's sudden stop was greeted by a groan from within. It emanated from Kevin, who had been looking forward to a silent afternoon. He slumped against the wall, the cool metal doing little to alleviate his mental state.

"Great," he mumbled, watching his coworker, Carol, pace the small space. She was a ball of nervous energy. He found her antics utterly draining.

He considered pressing the call button, but the effort seemed too much. He let the thought drift away. He closed his eyes.

He thought, maybe if he sat still long enough, they would just forget he was in here. Three hours sounded like an eternity. He hoped he could sleep through most of it.
