“Later,” Emily muttered, pushing the laptop further away. She’d seen the listing repeatedly, but the urge to actually examine it was nonexistent. The dishes in the sink seemed to multiply with every passing minute, a testament to her inertia. The thought of dealing with the sink was even more troubling.

She considered the implications of the listing - the potential buyers, the renovations. It felt like a monumental effort. She closed her eyes, the familiar weight of the world settling onto her shoulders.
