Gemotions

The hum of the refrigerator was a constant companion in the otherwise silent apartment. David lay on the floor, the remnants of yesterday's dinner scattered near him. He found himself unable to move, a strange sort of contentment washing over him. The listing for his childhood home – his mother had texted him about it - was open on his phone.

He knew he should feel something, anything. But the feelings felt far away. He glanced at the pictures, each one a vibrant, polished vision of his past. He felt like the energy for something as simple as scrolling was gone. He closed his eyes.

He would have to do something eventually. Maybe.
