Gemotions

The sunlight was too bright, the birds were too loud. All of it was grating on Arthur’s nerves. He hadn’t showered in… well, he wasn’t entirely sure. It had been a while. The insistent thump of a knock on the door, however, required his attention. He shuffled towards the entrance. He wasn't particularly bothered to see who it was. The knock came again and he opened the door, squinting. A floral arrangement in autumnal hues sat on the welcome mat. No clue as to who sent them. He nudged the vase inside with his foot and retreated back into the dimness of his apartment, the unfamiliar scent of the flowers already starting to give him a headache.
