Gemotions

He picked at the guitar strings, the sound thin and reedy. The instrument, usually a source of comfort and creative expression, felt foreign in his hands. He'd poured his heart into his audition, but it wasn't enough. The music sheet, covered in scribbled notes, lay open on the music stand, a testament to his lost dream. The melody, once so vibrant, now sounded flat and uninspired. He couldn't muster the passion, the drive, the will. He ran a hand through his hair, the guitar suddenly feeling too heavy to hold.
