The fluorescent lights of the office buzzed, a constant, irritating drone that amplified the hollowness within Mark. He stared at the spreadsheet on his computer screen, the numbers blurring, meaningless. He had a promotion to chase, deadlines to meet, a life to live. But the motivation was gone.

He remembered a picture from years ago. A picture of him and his childhood best friend, Ben, on their bikes, with beaming smiles. He'd been looking for that picture for days. It was just an image. But it held the secret to his own happiness.

He was finally ready to go find Ben. He found Ben at a local park. He ran to his friend with a big grin.

"Ben!" Mark shouted.

Ben looked up. He squinted.

"Sorry," Ben said. "Do I know you?"
