Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen of his computer, the cursor blinking mockingly. He was supposed to be writing, but the words wouldn't come. He had been asked to catalog the contents of his grandfather's library, a task he'd been putting off for weeks.

He unearthed a shoebox from beneath a dusty shelf. Inside, old photos and letters. One photo showed his grandfather, a renowned scholar, grinning, dressed in a flamboyant costume. It was completely out of character. He had always been told his grandfather was a serious and studious man.

The shock hit him like a physical blow, leaving him momentarily winded, as if someone had punched him in the stomach. He just wanted to go back to bed.
